touchsensors | lala and iori

[ Iori can be found in her house after the trial but she doesn't feel like going anywhere else because she's such a mess because she just can't take the pressure anymore.

But...

She also wants to get things over with, too, in spite of it all.

People say a lot of things about her.

And then there's...

Inaban.

But she saw her in that video, with Taichi. So she can't help but have her mind whirl a little bit. Is the Inaban that used to be here, the one that turned Static... not the one she knows?

Even so, it doesn't make any sense. She doesn't fulfill the requirements for it. The person who fits those requirements more is... herself. She has dealt with three of those things.

And... Inaban's not as selfish as she herself is. She cares about other people. Cares way too much about others, even if she tries to hide it.

It's not fair, though. Inaban would have...

She would have handled this so much better than she would......

It kind of makes her angry down to the pit of her stomach.

Lala gets a text: ]

You wanted to talk, right?

I'll be in the house.

[ It's not home, but it's something. ]

[Lala is wandering around aimlessly when she gets Iori's text. She isn't really looking forward to this conversation, to telling her "hey, your friend killed me and we have no way of talking to her to find out why," but she did say they'd talk later... and she definitely doesn't want to avoid Iori, especially since she offered to let her sleep over and that sounds a lot better than a repeat of last night. That, and now that their files are all out in the open, she sort of wants to tell someone some things about herself before anyone reads about them.

She happens to be close to house 7, so she doesn't bother sending a text back, instead pushing the door slightly open a minute or so later.]

Iori?

[ She is absolutely blanketforting it up right now but when she hears Lala, she does peer out of the blanket right at Lala. ]

. . . hey.

[ There's no energy in her voice, but at least her eyes aren't as puffy and red at this point. ]

[That's fine, hearing her sound like that is worrying enough already.

Now familiar with the common Earth blanket fort, Lala moves to let herself in.]

A lot happened today-lun.

[Technically most of it actually happened over the past week or before, but shh.]

It did.

[ Just calmly pointing that out. ] You wanted to tell me something, right? Is it about Inaban? Did you. . . find out something about her?

Lun.

[She takes a moment to steady herself, both physically and mentally.]

The first time I saw the name Inaba Himeko wasn't in her file or yours-lun. It was in mine-lun.

[Lala looks away.]

She killed me-lun.

[ She's stilled into silence for a very long time, and it's what causes deep blue eyes to widen, her lips to part ever so slightly. ]

Inaban, she--

[ Iori closes her hands into tight fists by her sides, shaking.

She can't say she can't imagine it. But. . . as her best friend, she can't-- ]

She's not the type of person that would do something like that without thinking really hard and long about it. Inaban, she-- She must have had a really good reason to do something like that. She wouldn't kill someone as the first option. Inaban's just not like that!

[ Or maybe she's the one making assumptions this time about her.

Who's to say that the Inaban that was here was the same one she remembers? Maybe she was a different one, maybe it was just like Goro and Akira and Yusuke.

The thought is chilling and sends shudders down her spine. ]
